The annual awards ceremony for the Observeur du Design was held recently on 23rd October 2008, in Paris. We are pleased to announce that Bic Sport and Vitali Designs were awarded the Etoile du Design 2009 for the O'pen Bic.
This annual ceremony, started in 1999 and organised by the French agency for the promotion of creation and design (the APCI) rewards businesses and designers coming together to produce innovative products.
For this 10th award ceremony, a total of 38 Etoiles were awarded to the most impressive and innovative designs out of over 200 shown from all sorts of domains: aeronautical, automobile, telephone, daily objects, urban furniture, leisure products...
The O'pen Bic as well as the other selected designs will be on show at the Cité des Sciences de la Villette in Paris until 8th March 2009.
The jury this year paid particular attention to the environment-friendly aspect of the products entered for these awards.
Bic Sport thus confirmed its commitment to environment-conscious manufacturing. In this respect, the O'pen Bic is already the recipient of the "Bateau Bleu" 2007 award given by the Fédération des Industries Nautiques, for the ecological concept of its equipment.
All information on the Observeur du Design can be found on the APCI website.
