Louis Vuitton Junior Trophy: 20 finalists for WE 21/22 Nov. 09
Our 40 young sailors are now down to 20 finalists, ready to give their best at this week-end's finals in Nice's Baie des Anges, south of France.
There was great excitement to be alongside the Class America crews. Last Saturday's races were sailed under light winds of 5 to 8 knots, with strong currents to contend with, making buoy racing quite tactical. It was a tight battle, and the winner out of the best 10 was Robin Folin of Sainte Maxime sailing club who came first. Sunday's races were sailed under stronger wind conditions ranging from 12 to 16 knots. All the kids were very focused and keen. Hippolyte Marchetti of Antibes sailing club was the overall winner from the best ten. The afternoon was devoted to Free Style and mandatory capsize.
The best twenty are now ready to fight it out for the chance to be crew member on one of the Class America yachts and to win an O'pen Bic for their club.
