UK O'pen Cup takes Scotland by storm!
27 June 2008 The second edition of the UK O'pen Cup took place in Scotland this year on the lovely Loch Ken at the Galloway Activity Centre. Approximately 45 junior sailors aged 11 years or older, and from six local sailing clubs or schools, took part in this hugely successful event.
In order to ensure that all participants got time on the boat, relay racing was the call for the day. All participants competed for the fastest team trophy, with the winner of each leg of the relay scoring points for their team.
Varied wind and weather conditions did nothing to dampen the atmosphere with team members urging each other to victory and competitive spirits remaining high all day.
Following its success this event looks to become the Scottish O'pen Cup and be held on an annual basis. We look forward to seeing you next year!
